The studio
Formality without stiffness
We are an interior architecture studio of four, working on a small number of private residences each year. Our work sits between architecture and decoration: we move walls, draw panelling, design joinery and specify every finish, then stay on site until it is built properly.
The houses we take on are usually well built and badly planned. Our job is to find the plan the building always wanted, then dress it in materials that will still look considered in fifteen years.
Principles
Plan before finish
The layout does the work. Material is what makes it feel inevitable, not what rescues it.
Built to be lived in
Panelling that survives children, stone that survives dinner, joinery detailed for daily use.
